Design studio led by Sebastian Irarrazaval at the School of Architecture is approached as an extension of the professional practice. In this regard professional endeavor and discoveries are translated to the academy . In order to enrich both realms we try to erase boundaries between one and the other. Same risks and same strategies are taken in both . As an example of this effortt,recent projects have been exploring the use of matrixes. Consequently similarities can be seen between San Damian House , The Shortlisted project for Living Steel competition and student work shown above.
The following 5 postes shown bellow and entitled "ESTRUCTURA MATERIAL..." contain student projects that were highly commended by the final jury that took place last week at the Catholic University.
